Let's talk about browsers? #Security, #privacy , and #innovation are the criteria. I've been loyal to #Firefox for years, I use #DuckDuckGo on my phone (it would be perfect with a #Linux app), I recently discovered #Startpage, and I use #Tor occasionally. What's your choice and why?

I can't believe they actually worded it this way. They tell me to forget about privacy and data protection. Guess this is the last way to watch restricted #Youtube videos or videos in general without ads and data protection gone. Good riddance.

Up until yesterday, I used to use google as my primary #searchengine. I tried to move away to my own home-hosted and VPS hosted #searxng instances back in early 2023 but it did not stick.

I kept trying to ditch #Google but I was never happy with the alternatives. It just felt different. Until yesterday. I was sick of the constant captchas I was getting through Google.com not liking the cromite browser I was using on my phone or that I don't have an account logged in.

I realized that the circumstances were quite similar to my fediverse switch and felt an urge to not put up with this and switch. (And write a blog about it)

Now I'm on #DuckDuckGo. It's a nice, simple life :D

I have a confession to make. As much as I love FOSS, privacy, etc, I have surrendered myself to big tech. Könnt ihr mal bitte in den nächsten Tagen versuchen das Webradio von #SWR1 im #DuckDuckGo Browser zu verwenden oder die SWR1-App mit deaktivierten #GooglePlayDiensten zu starten?

Das dürfte nicht (lange) funktionieren und der Support 'freut' sich bestimmt wenn ich nicht der einzige bin der sich meldet und darum bittet unabhängiger und datenschutzfreundlicher zu werden.
