I've alluded to or mentioned in passing composting several times in posts and articles, but this is the first time I'm really getting into details, and if you're someone living through aridity or concerned about water use or desertification, I'd definitely look into it. There are also several more potential use-cases for this technique, including safe humanure composting in a variety of ecosystems and situations which, let's be honest, you're terrified to have that conversation, but shipping your sh*t away in CLEAN water is not really a viable long-term waste solution for a plethora of reasons. And while there are wonderful village-scale recommendations for sustainable sewage in resources like Mollison's "Designer's Manual", most of us aren't in situations where we have the resources to design village-scale infrastructure.
