Feeling super proud and already having air in our lines I decided to replace the washing machine supply valves, too. They are original to the house and one was a little leaky. I cut them off, buffed them out and used shark bites on those. Low risk with leaks given its basement and it’s all exposed down there. I even used tapcons to keep them secure. So much winning at #DisOldHouse
If all goes according to plan, the crew will start installing our kitchen cabinets today. Maybe.
There have been all sorts of delays, mixups, and ridiculousness. So I’ll believe it when I see it.
@Jillianmarisa and I were talking last night and there is a non-zero chance they won’t show up because the whole crew has hantavirus or Ebola.
Ridiculous. However, I win.
I really thought the top roots would be mostly it. Nope. There are multiple layers. Fun! 🫠 I haven’t been sleeping well lately. Betcha I sleep amazingly tonight. But will I be done?! 🤔
My old, sad, 20-volt Black and Decker reciprocating saw says “NO!!”
Now I have a valid excuse to dive further into the Ryobi ecosystem. One+ Brushless, this time.
Cancel all my appointments. We’re going to be here a while.
Today’s project might kill me. Or it might make me stronger.
We recently bought a BEAUTIFUL large eastern redbud for our front yard. It will replace the invasive mimosa tree my late grandmother insisted on having. We had it taken out / stump ground a year ago. There are absolutely still shallow roots where I want this tree to be. 😵
Suboptimal start. But it’s going to be a gorgeous day. I have no commitments other than to making it an enjoyable and productive one.
Perfect chilly and sunny weather. Clean overalls and my “good” yard work shirt. Comfy work boots. Energy drink in hand, ambition in my brain.
Let’s see if I can make all the things happen!
Here's a fun #DisOldHouse update: We've been without a functioning kitchen since we moved here mid-renovation last July. WELL. Today the cabinetry gets delivered. FINALLY. And I just ordered the appliances.
Wondering if it's possible we can be 100% by 6/1? I sure hope so. Countertops, flooring, electric finishing, backsplash, oh my!
