I found this in the bookstore of the #diabeacon museum. I wasn’t planning on getting another copy of Timothy Snyder’s excellent book, but the illustrations are wonderful—drawn from all sorts of historical documents and contemporary (to their time) items, such as postcards.
Really impressive!
Dia Beacon visit
We visited Dia Beacon for the first time, with B. Great place. This is Dan Flavin’s untitled (to the real Dan Hill) 1b from 1978. B’s favorite was Louise Bourgeois’s spider, I think, or maybe Arena by Rita McBride. It was fun stumbling across Occasional Papers’ Explorer in the book shop.

Oh, shoot. RIP Richard Serra. I am such a fan of his pieces -- they have such an air of permanence, of a place. And being able to interact with art just draws you in even more.
@bragi Mario Merz used the Fibonacci sequence a bunch in his work. I loved how much GTO wire was used in this installation- about 25 feet between numbers and then about 400 feet of a midpoint that ran down to the floor and connected the two sides.
Two what I think are 15 or 12kv European Siet or Tecnolux magnetic transformers to power sequence numbers on the beams across that gallery cieling.
