@alexskunz Yeah, #deadbeef is almost there. It's simple, very usefull, it responds quickly to navigation and keyboard commands, can handle very large playlists, supports variety of formats, has a lot of features that look like inspired by #foobar2000. I've got it installed, I'm using it for some tasks.
Unfortunatelly it's playlist view is a custom control and there is no accessibility support for that control. So when using arrow keys to change selection I don't know which item is being selected and what's the text of that item.

I've replaced #foobar2000 since I can't get it to work on #wine. So I've essentially built a working terminal system using #Zellij, cava, and cmus.

I was using #DeaDBeeF for a little bit but I am not good with Playlist Managers. I much preferred the CUI interface that's an additional component for foobar2000.

cmus is doing a good job until a *real* alternative to foobar2000 comes out. #music #cli #linux

I knew about `0xDEADBEEF` but I just found out about all these other “magic” debug values… the iOS ones are particularly funny

Magic number (programming) - Wikipedia

@revengeday @kyberklang First time I read about this project. Looks amazing. Never thougt something could replace #DeaDBeeF 😃
Follow-up: I also tried #foobar2000 to see if it was any better than #deadbeef - but found you can't bind spacebar to play/pause. That's just crazy. Sticking with Deadbeef.

Gonna need all nerds of conscience to declare a complete moratorium on using 0xDEADBEEF in favor of 0xACAB8647, which has identical endianness and visual-repetition properties. 2896922183 is, while not greater than, superior to 3735928559.

High-cost battles? Losers just hit their pain threshold, not brains. Models hacked by nature’s desert-cult logic. 🌵 Study shows theorists got schooled in the war of attrition. #Deadbeef

#deadbeef is a real nice small music player for Linux. Clean user interface, many functions, highly configurable with a very small memory footprint.

But it's "design mode" with which you can rearrange the UI is a deep PITA. Yes, you can customize nearly everything. But the way to do that is a road to hell, likely developed by a weirdo.

DeaDBeeF 1.10 Release Brings New Features

A new version of DeaDBeeF music player is out, bringing some cool features, FFmpeg 7 support, and a flurry of bug fixes to long-time fans. The popularity of traditional desktop music player apps has dipped considerably since the arrival of music streaming services like Spotify, which give users on-demand (and often free) access to a far larger catalogue of artists, albums and releases. Still, many people (myself included) have libraries filled with MP3 and other audio files, and do enjoy listening them. I’d wager most such users have (by now) settled on their preferred local music player; for many, that
