Name one unusual thing in your MC’s home.

Her home is very understated. She's never been able to settle down in one place very long.

The one thing that most people don't have is her go bag. She's always ready to leave. So, in one corner, she has a plain duffel bag, filled with enough to keep her and Toto going for a few weeks on their own.

She's lived in her current apartment for over four years now, but she's still ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Okay, but don’t tell anyone, because Bethany isn’t supposed to have this: an eco-squirrel. One of those little robotic squirrels programmed to gather trash outdoors and make sure it either gets to the landfill or a recycling center. She found him damaged one day and couldn’t bear to just leave him there.

She totally did the right thing and called the company that makes them to ask what to do. But they said he’s an obsolete model and she should turn him in for decommissioning, which to Bethany sounded a lot like “dismantling for parts.” So she kept him and fixed him up instead.

She even tinkered with his programming so that he’s no longer compelled to go out and gather trash. He spends most of his time terrorizing the cat these days, but he still occasionally gathers small items from around the apartment and organizes them into little piles.
