This report summarises the findings of a study conducted by KU Leuven and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre on leveraging synonyms to improve the discovery and retrieval of data resources. The study and proposed methodology focus on improving semantic interoperability in the geospatial domain. It develops a methodology to harvest synonyms from existing sources and provides alternative ways for Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) to benefit from synonyms as alternative labels to expose spatial data. A methodology has been developed and tested in the study on three use cases or areas: noise, agriculture, and water. The resulting synonyms data sets and the developed tool βSynonym finderβ available for (re-)use on Joinup complement this report.
Wow, its been a good day for green energy.
1. Only 8.4% of UK grid electricity is currently coming from fossil fuels.
2. Twice in the last 48 hours, the cost of electricity went negative due to wind supply (about 2am when demand is low)
3. The price/mwh, which has peaked this year at over Β£450 has been between Β£5 and Β£10 all afternoon
4. Emissions/kwh, which usually sit between 100-250g are today between 50 and 60.
