The @EUCouncil version of “Daphne’s Law” #AntiSlapps would not have protected Daphne herself from the SLAPPs she was facing. In its usual reflex, the Council protects those in power, not the citizens. The law must be fixed, so as to have real impact.

More accurately, EU member state governments are undermining Daphnes Law, setting themselves against a united front of Parliament and Commission.

This highlights the need for wholesale reform of EU structures, with more power in Parliament, and less in the European Council.
