BerndLast Friday a flying club in a nearby town offered flights for children with cancer and from disadvantaged families. We participated with two pilots and one plane from our own club, for a total of eleven single-engine (mostly #P28A and #C172 and #DR40) and one twin-engine aircraft (#Piper #Navajo), performing non-stop 15-minute sightseeing flights.
I got to fly five times, and it was such a heart-warming experience to provide a short moment of absolute delight to the kids.
We also got this cute little pilot-wings lapel-pin.
The organiser also suffers from terminal cancer, but we expect the tradition to continue even after he passes away.
