Alyxxx on Instagram: "I wanted an all-in-one unit for DJing but nothing available met my requirements: - **multiple** USB ports for storage drives on the top (necessary for going back to back with other DJs) - separate booth vs main output - beveled screen, easily viewed while performing - strictly pioneer layout to practice for spinning at the club. I also wanted it to cost under $500. It is ridiculous that the XZ for example costs over $3,000. It turns out that you can load mixxx onto a raspberry pi such that you can plug in a pioneer DJ controller, then build your own mixer using NE5532 op amps to create a separate booth output. The real magic is building the enclosure out of something strong (acrylic) then mounting RCA and USB type-c plugs to the back such that it just sort of snaps into an existing controller, in this case an FLX4, effectively creating an all-in-one unit. I plan to continue development on this and I'm excited for the possibility of 3D printing a more elegant enclosure and also adding native USB eject/ management capabilities into mixxx so that I can replicate the USB management of a pioneer controller. Please follow along if this interests you!:) #dj #diy #pioneer #raspberrypi #electronics"
