Susan Murray of African Journals Online highlights some characteristics of Open Access in the Global South, particularly throughout the African continent.
Gu Liping (Alan Ku) from the Chinese Academy of Sciences takes us through developments around Open Access in China.
Our sixth speaker, Abel Packer of Scielo, highlights the importance of #OpenScience: Open Science practices lead to better research and better democratisation of access to research.

DOAJ Ambassador for Indonesia, Ikhwan Arief reminds us of the huge amounts of open access journals and scholarly output coming from Indonesia.
