Clear-felled forests on erosion-prone land are one bad rainstorm away from disaster.

Sash and sediment discharges. "We argue that the standards should set limits to the size and location of clear-felling areas on erosion-susceptible land." >>

One bad rainstorm away from disaster: why proposed changes to forestry rules won’t solve the ‘slash’ problem

Even when forestry companies fully comply with current standards, slash discharge and erosion can happen. New rules must set size and location limits on clear-felling.

It never rains but it pours... this time from a light fitting because my daft mum forgot to turn the shower of properly and there's a leak in the seal around the shower that we've now discovered.

Tripped all of the lights out, so me up a ladder taking down a light fitting that was FULL of water. and trying to dry everything out.

The only shower in the house at the moment is now off limits. Cannot get this downstairs bedroom and wet room for her done quick enough now.

Temporary eyesore fence around the first three main beds removed, and chicken wire now in place around all 6. Still need to staple to the wooden posts and remove some of the old wire/netting, but it already looks less shambolic! Now just half of the 'three sisters' bed left to prepare, and planting to do. Can't wait for this all to be full of fruit and vegetables.

@merialc it’s the just one thing that always gets you isn’t it? I remember moving into a new house and thinking ‘I’ll just put the curtains up before I got to bed’. Drilled the hole for the curtain pole bracket straight through a very strangely placed gas pipe. Emergency gas fitter call out. Large bill. #epicfail #diydisasters
Work has gotten in the way, horrendously, this week - the cabin project has been stalked since the weekend really, aside from a bit of floor varnishing.
BUT (!!) I should be back in there tomorrow, wiring and screwing and generally bodging things somewhat; full steam ahead for occupancy (to some degree) over the weekend 🤣
