These Crumars are not among the poly-analog synthesizers that have found a permanent place in the Valhalla of vintage instruments. They are unspectacular in appearance, their characteristic acoustic is rarely… Read More
Alesis QuadraSynth "Keys" providing the Rhodes electric piano sound, through serious reverb (a little tricky to play, having to hit slightly early compared to the drums due to the reverb delay). Other synths include the Korg M3R (M1 in a rack) and the Moog D for the bass sounds and the Crumar Bit 99, a classic Italian synth, for the hauting melody line.

In the end i did end up using the #tb303 for my latest #jamuary2025 track, in a dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde dual use. From borderline mysterious #ambient electronic bassist to intransigent #techno screaming banshee, it ended up filling its role perfectly, after sidetracking me for hours. #tb303 #tr606 #adrenalinn #sequentialcircuits #sixtrak #crumar #bit99 #hammond #novachord
The 6th track for #jamuary2025 was inspired by my "Radio Interference" album released 30 years ago. Embracing artifacts we normally try to hide, this incorporates mechanical noise (Radio Interference
#jamuary 9 is my 5th track since the beginning of the year. Almost gave up but someone reached out and said they were really looking forward to my next #jam, so I pushed forward and published some #downtempo #ambient. A little more lively than the previous but still fairly #chill. There is an element from video games in that there is a square lead from a Texas Instrument chip in there. Drowned in space reverb. #music #soundcloud #electronica #crumar #Elka #arp #korg
5th track for #jamuary2025, returning to full speed from the first two jams but continuing the ambient mood from the 4th track. Lead is done on a videogame like square wave, complemented by a Crumar B
Another #synth I used for this song was the Chase Bit 99 synthesizer. Just kidding. The #Crumar #Bit99 is what I got. It was sold in the UK under the Chase brand apparently (pretty corny advertising I agree). In the US they sold as both Crumar & Unique.
It is capable of layering two patches together, leaving a 3 note polyphony in that case (it has 6 voices total). The voices have a lot of character given the simplicity of the architecture thanks to CEM3328 filters
Righty, I need to find a home for an Amstrad CPC 464 w/green scree, some analogue recording gear including a 24 channel mixer, some Tracey island stuff and lots of random stuff like that.
If any of this sounds like your thing, please drop me a line.
Oh, and a vintage #Crumar Roady stage piano
