Eine Venus-Sonde aus Sowjetzeiten ist "heimgekehrt": Die 1972 gestartete Kosmos-482 trat am Wochenende in die Erdatmosphäre ein. Was genau mit dem rund eine halbe Tonne schweren Objekt passiert ist, wird wohl ungeklärt bleiben.

If it landed in #Ukraine, we will see just another 50 year old Soviet artifact getting towed by a tractor.
Saw no traces of something reentering on that pass, so it likely landed east of #Germany.
👆🏼 Über ihren offiziellen Telegram-Account hat die russische Weltraumagentur #Roskosmos inzwischen verbreitet, dass die gescheiterte #Venussonde über dem Indischen Ozean abgestürzt ist, wo sie westlich der indonesischen Hauptstadt #Jakarta ins Meer gefallen ist. Eine unabhängige Bestätigung dafür steht aber noch aus.
According to the last ESA update, Cosmos 482 has apparently already gone down. No need to run outside and look up in the sky.
