What's your favorite writing convention to eschew?

I write sword & sorcery. None of my settings are pseudo- (or 'D&D') medieval. There's no universal, evangelical monolatry. My 'fantasy races' are less human in nature. There's no clear border between academic/scientific magic and religious magic.

Aliems aside, there are no 'magical bloodlines'; magical prowess comes mainly from wisdom, conviction, and hard work.

All of my work is #Punk / #Cyberpunk and not just in the surface aesthetics.

Society is inherently doomed to corruption but worth fighting for. Heroes die young or live long enough to become villains.

Power is what you can control; freedom is what you can unleash. Information is the purest form of both.

Heroes fight for communities they can never be fully a part of; villains destroy the communities they rule from within.

My work is chock full of nonhuman peoples are nonhuman peoples are WEIRD.

#Shroompunk kiths are based on He-Man/She-Ra/Mario characters.

#CosmicRangers aliens are trad fantasy races with #CosmicFantasy / #SpaceOpera glow-ups.

The #jianghu of #SDTJ2197 is chockfull of faerie/yokai/yaoguai and Carter/Burroughs/Lovecraft weird fantasy gribblies. They're all 'extra-dimensionals', or 'edies', and they're the reason that decent people stay out of Squidtown.

I realized that all my #fantasy settings have something in common: they're all set across multiple worlds. Geography rarely matters.

#Shroompunk connects its Worlds-- bite-sized flat 'earths'-- by living #megadungeons called 'Warp Zones'.

#CosmicRangers is a #SpaceWestern with where local 'regions' of space are connected by hyperspace railways. #FTL and 'faster than FTL'.

#SDTJ2197 is set in San Diego-Tijuana in the year 2197. With Cultivation Realms and planar travel.

It's complicated.

#Shroompunk is a multiverse. All of those foods exist.

#CosmicRangers is space opera. None of those foods exist, but something just like all of those foods does, and the narrator is translating the names of those foods into English.

My... untitled #cyberpunk #xianxia #UrbanFantasy is set (primarily) on Earth. It's 2197 and we've had a couple of extra World Wars, but the California Free State alone exports all of those foods.

Been spending a lot of time with #ChatGPT and #DALL-E lately and I really feel like things are coming together-- like I have a clear picture to show playtesters and real artists when I start moving forward.

Question is... is there anything I can do with the AI outputs that will help other people? Maybe use them as illustrations in the SRD, or something?
