I made a puzzle game for Finji's CorgiJam!
Dig holes and fill them in again
Move trees around
Bonk into walls
All this and more in The Shovelling Hour

My very short entry for #CorgiJam is done ! I left a lot of things on the cutting room floor, and I didn't have time to implement a lot of mechanics, so there's only a few levels, but still : I'm happy with the result !
Today is the last day for submissions to the #CorgiJam. I look forward to playing everyone's games and I hope you enjoy mine too.

#CorgiJam Day 26
Ideas and Formula: I tried adding some graphics to the game but they turned out to be too distracting. Perhaps I'll change the color of the background gradually instead.
Things noticed: Any changes to the attention of the player changes the timings. The whole level would need to be re-balanced and the mental load might be too much.
Things to do: The last thing I need to do is record a trailer.
#CorgiJam Day 25
Ideas and Formula: I went back to sending the letters out individually instead of advancing them down the screen. This seemed to create more of a threat. It only works for the boss.
Things noticed: The VS compiler doesn't like Japanese. I need to rename the executable by hand.
Things to do: The game could use a background image. Something calming like a forest but at the same time not distracting.
#CorgiJam Day 24
Ideas and Formula: I finally have a name for the game. The style of the game is very #Japanese even though the entire thing is in English. I've settled on "片手ーよ の 弾幕" or "Katate-yo no Danmaku".
Things noticed: The length of the tones should decide when the next line is played.
Things to do: I'll need to convert the .wav files I have. My built-in synthesizer is not able to handle this project yet.
#CorgiJam Day 22
Ideas and Formula: FINISHED! Okay so maybe not really. The game needs sound effects, maybe some music... and a good name.
Things noticed: This code is all trash. I can't reuse any of this. It would take me a whole month to repurpose this garbage. Why do I want to spend a whole month repurposing this garbage?
Things to do: Repurpose this garbage code.
