🇬🇧⬇️ Corona hat unser aller Alltag mit Nachwirkung verändert. Ob die Pandemie aber ein unvergessenes Ereignis in den Geschichtsbüchern wird oder wie etwa die spanische Grippe als "eine von vielen Katastrophen" in Vergessenheit gerät, wird sich noch zeigen. 🤔
Wir haben uns dem Thema zunächst mit einem Augenzwinkern, dem offen Kuriosen genähert. (Ja, das ist eine original "Corona-Toilettenpapierrolle" aus Zeiten "großer Knappheit" hier in Deutschland. Die Maske tragende Maus ist ein passendes Statement der Künstlerin Katie Hardwick.) Der ernste Hintergrund gesellt sich eher leise dazu. (Die Papierrolle wird zusammengehalten von einem Originalpflaster aus der ersten Impfwelle.)
Wie alles hier im Kabinett eben ein echter #conversationstarter, der danach verlangt, dass man seine Geschichte(n) erzählt. 😉

We initially approached the subject with a touch of humour, embracing its openly bizarre nature. (Yes, this is an original “C*
Corona toilet roll” from the days of “severe shortages” here in Germany. The mask-wearing mouse is a fitting statement by the artist Katie Hardwick.) The serious backdrop is a rather quiet addition. (The toilet roll is held together by an original plaster from the first wave of the pandemic.)
Like everything else here in the cabinet, it’s a real conversation starter that begs you to tell its hiStory. 😉

Hosting a wine tasting revealed an interesting dynamic - attendees valued having their own opinions validated more than being "right" about the wines. Especially the younger ones (>25yrs!) were worried being wrong. It was the first time I organised one myself and it was a lot of fun. Educational more about people than wine, funnily enough.
