The future is bright. Just not for the status quo.

Huang makes the physical reality of AI impossible to ignore. Concrete, power, cooling, skilled labor. No vibes. No prompts.

“AI kills all jobs” misses the point. Value shifts/.

Davos 2026: Conversation with Jensen Huang, President and CEO of NVIDIA | Jeff B.

This is the future I see too. It's bright. Just not for the status quo. From this video: https://lnkd.in/ed6BSBaT Jensen Huang is saying the quiet part out loud. AI doesn’t float in a cloud. It sits built on concrete, steel, power, cooling, fiber. Real things, in real buildings in real places that real people have to design, wire, plumb, secure, and keep running. You can argue about hype all day, but the PHYSICAL reality doesn’t move. Data centers don’t build themselves. Chip fabs don’t run on vibes. Energy has to be generated and moved. Cooling systems have to work every minute of every day. When they don’t, someone with a wrench shows up. Not a prompt. That’s why the “AI kills all jobs” take feels lazy to me. What actually happens is a shift in where value concentrates. We’re about to dump hundreds of billions, probably trillions, into infrastructure. That money doesn’t stop at software engineers. It flows to electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, construction crews, steelworkers, and the people who keep complex systems alive after launch. The five-layer cake framing is useful. Everyone wants to talk about the apps at the top. The bottom layers are where the hard, expensive, unglamorous work lives. Those layers are also where a lot of durable, well-paid jobs come from. Not flashy ones. Stable ones. Take radiology for example. AI didn’t erase radiologists. It changed how productive they could be. That pattern shows up over and over again. Tools rarely wipe out entire professions overnight. They change the shape of the work and raise the floor on output. There’s a geopolitical angle here that gets ignored. Treating AI infrastructure like roads and energy is exactly right. Language, culture, data sovereignty. Those don’t live in someone else’s cloud forever without consequences. Countries that don’t build capacity end up renting intelligence from the ones that do . Is Huang talking his book? Obviously. But that doesn’t make him wrong. The future isn’t “everyone learns to code” or “robots do everything.” It’s messier and more physical than that. High-tech systems sitting on very old-school foundations, built and maintained by people who know how things actually work. That future looks less like mass unemployment and more like a rebalancing of where leverage, pay, and respect actually live. #AI #Infrastructure #Trades #SkilledLabor #DataCenters #Manufacturing #Construction #Energy #FutureOfWork #Automation #Technology #Workforce #Industrial #Economy

Metrolinx claps back at comment claiming they're 'too scared' to rip up streets
Tunneling work for Toronto's hotly-anticipated Ontario Line is soon to kick off from a launch portal near Exhibition Place, but apparently not everyone is thrilled about the construction method that will be employed to carve out the city's first downtown subway tunnels...

2/ Chinese #population is shrinking and they seem to be frugal folks, which means domestic economy is going nowhere including #construction #realestate Canada, Russia, and Norway are, essentially, on a collision course with China (#oil Vs #EV) What to do?
4/ What if these three partner with China (awesome #construction skills in terms of cost, scale, and speed) to build new #cities in that empty land and rent them out to a #global #organization such as the #UN to house #climate #refugees ?
