#Computationalphotography is the bad side of #LLM (Large Language Models).
It's true but now its super clear, how the digital photos are being tweaked towards something which looks great on a flat LCD screen but not great to edit outside the built in AI/mobile tools.
Thankfully #raw does exist but how many people actually shoot in RAW? Or even make the choice to switch depending on the context?
Pretty grumpy at Apple for obvious reasons right now, but the gear still surprises me now and then.
Even my iPhone 13 mini, a way behind the state of the art, can do me this amazing handheld shot of my friends silhouetted against the lights of Bournemouth across the bay, with actual stars in the sky.
Or is it all made up?
I've never seen a camera miss this hard. 😬 Maybe we’ve gone too far down the computational photography road when an iPhone (the most popular camera ever sold!) can’t take natural looking photos of people in a pumpkin patch…
I like a lot of computational photography advancements we’ve seen, but we gotta tone it down.
