Videos who overly censor themselves, my beloathed. Videos who censor harmless words like beat, death, grooming, kill, abuse, rape, violence, or unironically use words like "un-alive" need to stop and touch grass. I feel like a goddamn toddler when videos treat such basic words like they're slurs. These are not dirty words, these are not slurs, you using them isn't going to harm anyone.

It's better to teach kids these words and how to use them so they can use them properly and responsibly, and give them the means to possibly relay their own experiences to trusted adults. Also, most small children know what fucking "kill" is and probably far worse, there are plenty of shows geared towards small children that use words like kill and death JUST FINE, and yet these Youtube videos NOT intended for children on a 13+ platform CAN'T??? You're not going to stop kids from learning these words, but you *can* stop them from using them incorrectly. Arm them with knowledge instead of constantly shielding them from harmless goddamn words.

Part of me thinks this is the spread of #TikTok 's excessive censorship leaking out into other platforms because I've seen people complain about similar things on #Tumblr before, but I don't have much evidence besides comparing and contrasting other digital platforms to TikTok in a before and after kind of style.

And like, it's just an insult to the intelligence of the viewers. As like I said, most kids already know these words, and trying to hide these words from them is an insult to their intelligence, and especially to older viewers as well. What does this censorship *do*, exactly? I know not all of it is to stay monetized because I've literally fucking seen "I Murdered a Customer" in the title of a monetized video before, so that's not it. Like, why? And regardless, stop it. Stop treating your audience like literal babies.
