Hatch is not as excited about winning yarn chicken as I was. ๐ I did have to take out two repeats in the middle to achieve this feat but thankfully my trusty kitchen scale steered me true so I only had to backtrack a couple of rows. โ๏ธ
Needs some ends woven in but if I move I might wake up my doggy, and we can't have that, can we?

The new yarn is working out great and it's much nicer to knit, so it's been my go-to while curled up with Hatch in the recliner reading in the evenings. Which is lovely but does not lend itself to great pictures so here's what it looked like when I had actual sunlight this afternoon.

Michelle / The Giddy StitcherCasting on two (at least mostly) plain stockinette projects in two very dark colours was not my plan for this week at all, but sometimes you just go where life takes you.
Navy blue is going to be a #CroppedBoatneckSweater to throw on over long dresses.
The endless black void that will soon become impossible to photograph is a #DummyClapShawl, part of an accidental two-person knitalong with @maru_1 as our much easier take on #ClapotisFest ๐

The stitches are adding up really fast for my Habitica stitch count challenge, and I'm actually quite enjoying the mindlessness of both, but ask me again after another week...
While I was looking for something else today, I found *another* ball of yarn that might have been earmarked for a future Clapotis. ๐ (I probably couldn't decide and since it was a travel souvenir I just bought both.)
This hank is actually the same base as the original Clapotis I made for my sister. Since I'm kind of hating the yarn I have on the needles now and I just had to rip back to the end of section 2 anyhow, I think I'm going to frog and start with the other, less splitty yarn.
Not sure what I'll do with the lighter turquoise yarn. It looks beautiful but it snags on everything. Maybe it would be ok as weft in a weaving? It's cotton/rayon in an annoyingly light twist.
This #WIPWednesday I am mostly swatching in black. Which will be incredibly boring to knit but much more practical to wear than a lot of stuff I make!
Enjoyed seeing everyone's Clapotises, but there's something about the pattern that just doesn't do it for me.

Please do not email complaints insisting that there is a typo. 50 inches of stockinette really means to do 50 inches of stockinette first. KattniI have completed section three of my Clapotis scarf! I did the math during the process and determined I could add six more runs of section three and still have enough yarn left to finish the scarf. So, the version pictured here is longer than the pattern calls for. The rest of it fills in the missing triangle on the left side. So it's as long as it's going to be along the top side. I'm looking forward to finishing it up for #ClapotisFest and submitting my final photo. No idea what will be next, but I'll be really happy to have my new scarf.

I've reached the halfway point in the Clapotis pattern! Much sooner than I expected when I started, for sure. I initially was going to skip a section in the middle to ensure I had enough yarn, but now it's looking like I can do some extra middle sections to make it longer. I'll see where I'm at when the first skein ends before making that decision. It's looking like I will have this finished for #ClapotisFest after all!
