I got a lot of knitting done yesterday at our game. I'm finished with the first ball of yarn already! I am more than halfway through the "increase" section of this scarf and then I'll start the largest section. It's called straight knitting but it's not, because the whole thing is on the bias. So you still have to increase on one side and decrease on the other.

Now I have to pull out another ball of yarn and hopefully one of them starts on the same color I'm ending on so the transition won't be too jarring. I am thinking about doing a different kind of join than I normally do. Usually I just leave a tail of yarn that I weave in later (I do this for the yarn that is ending and the yarn that I'm starting) but I think this time I might actually join them together.

I was thinking of using the Russian Join, but this yarn is not really twisted. it IS really "grabby" though, so it might work fine. I guess we will see!

My yarn arrived today. This is for the Clapotis I plan to make to match my new Winter coat. Yes, just in time for things to get warm. But it will be ready for the next cold season, right?

I will link the Clapotis pattern for those who have not seen it. And here is the last one I made, though I do not wear it stretched out. I wear it like a scarf, kind of rolled up.

My new yarn has lots of good colors for my coat and I am excited. Greeny blues, bluey greens, purples, green-greens, even a nice golden yellow. I am really happy I found something in the colorway I wanted. We'll see how it pools when I start knitting it up!

Finished a Clapotis scarf last night. Ended with 5g left out of a 162g skein and definitely couldn’t have gotten another repeat out, happy with that. Having a hard time resisting just casting on another one - this is such a satisfying knit. #knitting #clapotis
Very happy with how this #clapotis turned out now that it’s blocking. Glad that I asked the recipient for thoughts on how to handle my yarn chicken failure, because the solution to use a contrast color for the corner was much simpler than my convoluted alternatives. Plus now I’ve cast another one on with the pink/raspberry yarn. #knitting

Here’s my finished handspun Clapotis. It will probably look different after it’s washed.

I did some rough math to figure out how wide to knit it to make it long enough. I could have made it wider, but I think the stripes would have been too narrow.

Anyway, I couldn’t have made the stripes work better if I’d tried. I didn’t plan to have them be mirrored. I started the decrease rows for finishing just because I was ready to be done.

Have finally reached the point on my Clapotis scarf when it’s time for the decrease rows. Huzzah!

Photos later.

I think I will finish knitting my #Clapotis this week. I’ve knit mine to be a long scarf, and I just realized that I think it’s the first scarf I will ever have finished.
