Saturday was a busy day. Not only did we shoot that short film but Alan of Livyatan Animation Studios fame had a Christmas party and he pulled out all the stops. Look at that spread! I was a little worried that our last minute short film was going to mess up the party but I think we got there just in time. And not only was it a great time but I got some leftover ham and some great gifts 🎁

My traditional Christmas ham, cooked in cider with cinnamon, clove, cardamom, star anise, allspice, orange, lemon and apple is on the stove, filling the air with spicy deliciousness. Sadly I can’t eat it now, but hopefully everyone else will. Putting this on to cook is really when the festive season starts in our family.

Somebody gave me some ham, with sweet thick pineapple sauce. I'd normally have this with bread, but I'll have a couple of slices for dinner, with rice. 😋

And I'm cooking more rice than needed for dinner... You know, to have leftover rice for making fried rice on another day. 😉

This time I tried using the zest & juice of an Orange instead of the red wine vinegar to try & get a more orange-y flavour.
I think next time I’ll take a bit more fat off the ham & reduce the glaze before using it.
We’ll see how it tastes later tonight. #ChristmasHam
