At #NAMM 2026, I had a chance to hang out with Andy Winston from Yamaha Corporation. We talked Chris Buck's signature #Revstar, the new #Pacifica SC, and we deep dived into the BB/7345 bass (the #BB734 it is on my wishlist, Andy!!! Jast saying... 😅 I do not have the patience for 5 strings! ) and most of all about why this amazing company keeps building more instrument than the price tag says.

Andy's words: "We don't do reissues. You're never gonna see us reissue a 1972." That's the philosophy. Draw from history. Build for tomorrow.

Wish was onze jaarlijkse 1-januari-naar-de-filmtraditie. Het is een aardige film, maar in niets springt de film boven het maaiveld uit. Geen bijzonder verhaal, zoals Encanto, geen bijzondere settings zoals Coco, geen briljante muziek zoals in Frozen. Wat vooral leuk is, is het zoeken van referenties naar andere Disney-films, maar daarvoor is Youtube leuker dan het zelf kijken van deze film. De makers hadden duidelijk meer aandacht voor het verhaal moeten hebben, dat soms wat rommelig aandoet. Zo is de spanning die de makers wilden creëren rondom de ‘dader’ midden in de film eerder een gat in het verhaal, dan een spanningsboog. De muziek is leuk, maar niet opvallend. We hebben ons vermaakt, maar niemand wilde de film thuis via streamingdiensten graag nog een keer kijken. De tekenstijl vond ik zelf nog wel een pluspunt, maar ook dat zal niet iedereen vinden. A mixed bag, zoals ze dat zo mooi kunnen zeggen in het Engels.
