Gotta say, this dude is a bright star on my guitarist sky map right now 🤩 first & foremost in tone & style, obvi 😁 but also he's just a really good guitar communicator (that's like the science communicators I also like to watch on YT, but for guitar) & seems to be an all-round relatable guy 👍

I just noticed earlier that the back of the body was a little gunky so I gave it a wee polish & now look at it 😱
The white discoloration fades when it cools/dries of my body heat/moisture but the lacquer still seems to be permanently affected...
Never noticed anything like this before, is it normal for vintage Gibsons? 🤔
Starting to get some pretty sick drive sounds, from Robben Ford'ish to classic rock to subtle grit, by stacking Ghost Drive & Dual Gun, itself a very nice pedal currently replacing my TS-5 with similar sound but greater tonal range & also built-in further stacking 😁
Also, did I mention that the seller packed the Ghost in a huge beach towel for protection - how's that for extra merch in the box 😂 - and even branded it with his name 😊

I simply don't get that EHX's Soul Food is supposed to be a Klone, though 🤔 maybe I was just unlucky & got a lemon but the one I have is more (high)mid-forward than the TS-5 Tube Screamer, to the point of being outright nasal-sounding.
I just got it after watching a few review videos & thinking it sounded nice but right now it's out of rotation - not ready to give up on it yet, but it certainly isn't transparent to my ears...
So I got my hands on a Ghost Drive, StewMac's well-reviewed DIY kit version of the Klon & while I've only tried if for an hour or so last night I'm liking 🤩
I'm learning a lot about how hard it is to compare sounds across different guitars & signal chains & it also seems like maybe I don't even know what I'm looking for 😝 but it's so much fun!
Pro'lly gonna have to get more drive pedals to compare tho... 😁
In my overdrive search I stumbled upon this second hand & had to get it - one, it looks amazing, two, it was cheap & three, I want to experiment with drive stacking & it has it built right in 😁

That new amp of mine turns out to be an absolutely awesome pedal platform, meaning I can start to explore this issue, really for the first time in my guitarist life 😁
I asked Anthony about it when I bought the amp, because I wasn't sure how loud 15 class A tube watts would be in an apartment & he said "it takes an attenuator really well" & it quickly turned out I'd need one 😁
-and yes, it already sounds sweet with the volume & maybe the guitar rolled back to a neighbor-friendly level, but holy crap, opening it up... 🤯👂🎶 🤩🥰😍🎸

So why haven't I already ordered one? Well... the thing is, I tried a Baum Wingman Vega a couple of times few years ago & I didn't feel entirely comfortable playing it, so this is not something I want to buy without holding it in my hands first.
Guess I'll have to find out if any dealers around here will have it to try 🤔
