So why haven't I already ordered one? Well... the thing is, I tried a Baum Wingman Vega a couple of times few years ago & I didn't feel entirely comfortable playing it, so this is not something I want to buy without holding it in my hands first.

I did it, you guys - after a lovely email conversation with Anthony, who seems to be the coolest dude ever & decided to honor a "free shipping" discount code I won on the website, even for transatlantic shipping, I put in my order for a Marla S15C amp, which will rocket right to the top of "Nicest guitar things I own", sharing the space only with my vintage Gibson SG π

OK, dis- or encourage me: Local shop has a really good deal on an interesting little tube amp & I could easily slip by for a butcher's on my way home from work - but I don't need an amp, I don't have much room & I'm perfectly happy with the one I have...
On the other hand, I can afford it, especially at half-price (used) & it's reviewed really well.

I've had a Vox Valvetronix for a few years & I only stumbled onto this video today - and, well, the shootout winner is a VT40 & mine is a VT20, but I'm pretty sure the victory still holds up π
It wouldn't have made a difference; I still love it, but sometimes it's nice to have your choices affirmed π
(oh & the Orange Crush Chappers nearly chooses as his 2nd? I have a smaller version of that, too π I guess we have similar taste)

Oh, I forgot, I also really want to understand compression π€ I already had a comp pedal, another cheap-but-decent Flamma & now I can stack it with the new one & hopefully learn more about this subtle effect (you pro'lly can't even tell much from this recording) π
The Flamma is an opto & I think the EHX is OTA, so a chance to maybe get the hang of some of the differences...
From front to rear & left to right, a Leadfoot ABY piping the signal from a Morley volume to my amps - then a T-Rex Reverb next to a Mooer Reecho, an Ibanez TS-5 Soundtank Tube Screamer next to a Flamma FC-05, an Electro Harmonix Soul Food & a Tone Corset, and a Harley Benton ABY for switching between amp signal chain and audio interface/DAW input π
Recent acquisitions are the Ibanex, EHX, Mooer & Flamma ones, the criteria being "cheap but well-reviewed/demo'ed".
Welp, bought my "pedal set"... π one of the reasons being that I've never really had a setup where I could play with wet effects in particular, so Imma indulge π

I think I'm arriving at the "handful" option π€ what I want, after all, is not so much "play with one effect at a time" as "play with guitar sounds" - which is just as much, if not more, about how effects interact with each other...
Of course this could mean buying one of every effect in existence, that's not quite where I am π more like finding a cheap one that doesn't suck of each main category; drive, delay, modulation etc.
I have some good ideas already π
