Thanks for referencing Duniter. If its the one we remember it may have a place alongside bitcoin, ie. the base layer.

People paid in BTC rather than Fiat have done well, because bitcoin is still finding its price. You are right in that the more money centralPlanners print in their myopic Fiat ponzi, the higher the price of bitcoin (ultimately).

There's a #chickenEgg problem, of course. What comes first, Fiat devalued by inflating moneySupply or public confidence reduced.
