I like to create playlists from old comps that only ever saw release on #8Track back when - if only to drag some harsh 70s reality vibes back into the harsher-still digitally coded vibes of today. "Soul Sauce" (1973, Ampex Music Division) featured crucial hits by #BettyDavis, #ChiLites, #CurtisMayfield & #Sylvia among others. But it's also got a great, soulful ballad by the I-didn't-think-they-had-it-in-em #GladysKnightAndThePips. Plants a smile on my face every time.
