One year ago, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. On February 24, 2022 World Central Kitchen served the first meals to people fleeing for safety. Our team has since provided more than 210 million meals to support families in an ever-changing war. We continue to serve meals every day.

While delivering meal kits to a small village in the #Kherson Oblast, the #WCK team met a young child playing in a set of ruins.

It’s common for people picking up #WCK food kits in Ukraine to come by bike—some ride for 30 minutes each way for the support.

The kits are heavy, full of items including flour, rice, oil, canned meat & veggies, and tea—enough to last families between deliveries.

Ukraine’s #Donetsk Oblast is a hot spot in the ongoing #Russian invasion. #WCK provides food kits & hot meals in two liberated cities here where resources are scarce—still, many residents are returning due to homesickness & lack of finances to live elsewhere.
