I thought, #ttrpg cons are not for me, until I felt the urge to attend the #cauldron2023 #osr con, fascinated by the idea to have a convention dedicated to osr games ❤️. Since then, I have been involved in organizing two mini osr cons: #pinkponyofdeath con and #LoFiCon last weekend (lovely folks, great fun). I think, it is important to organize cons where people feel welcome, safe, and build community. 1/2
@alexanderondu Oh no! Cons entdecke ich gerade erst für mich. Initialzündung war die tolle #Cauldron2023 #osr Con und dann haben wir danach gleich eine eigene auf die Beine gestellt und arbeiten an der nächsten Mini Con. Ich dachte, lange, dass ich mich auf cons unwohl fühlen würde und hatte Klischees vor Augen: überfüllte Terminslots, hallende Turnhallen…aber dann war es: gut.

- I was involved in launching a multi-GM open table game, which follows a #WestMarches inspired approach. So far, it is an exciting and rewarding experience and something completely new for me. I‘m curious how this little experiment of ours will evolve. We use #Shadowdark, a modern b/x ish osr game.
- I ran my first game at a con (#cauldron2023). I usually play modern #osr games and retroclones, but discovered that #adnd still has it and is super fun

@Rollenspielblog ich war 2023 das erste mal seit 1994 (?) auf einer Con (#cauldron2023 ). Da ging mir vorher „ein bisschen“ die Muffe. Hab ein selbstgeschriebenes Abenteuer geplaytestet. Lief dann ganz gut und war wunderschöne Erfahrung
@kevin @bwebster Recently, I had the privilege of playing in a game of #odnd at the #cauldron2023 #osr con. @wandererbill ran an open table hexcrawl campaign and the game felt so fresh and modern, like I was being timewarped back into the 70s and xperiencing this game for the first time. Why was it so amazing? One aspect (besides great dm), I guess: the world was the character sheet, we were collaboratively working on
