I've just realised the named hills around Ben Nevis are called (from bottom left) Carn Dearg (pronounced "Jereg"), Carn Dearg, Carn Beag Dearg, Carn Dearg Meadhonach, Carn Mor Dearg, and Meall Cumhann. I must admit I'm disappointed in the last one. (Ok, three of them are on the same ridge, but even if you count those all as Carn Mor Dearg - CMD, the best route up Ben Nevis - that's still 3 of the 4 hills around the Ben called Carn [Mor] Dearg!)
Dearg means red in Gaelic.
Beinn Pharlagain, Sgòr Gaibhre, and Càrn Dearg from Loch Eigheach yesterday. Fantastic views towards Schiehallion, Loch Ericht, Ben Alder, Rannoch Moor, Glen Nevis, and Glen Coe. And weather stayed fair.
