Another photo from my trip out of Glasgow last weekend, this time from the slopes of Ben Lawers. Scottish mountains in the spring sunshine are really up there with almost anywhere in the world, and you can reach the closest of them within an hour's drive from the city.

@funkybyrd No problem. You can also get the train to Fort William which has lots of big mountain walks within easy reach of town including Ben Nevis.

@funkybyrd You can get the train to Kingussie in the Cairngorms from Edinburgh or Inverness. There are local buses in that area to Aviemore, Newtonmore etc. so plenty of opportunities to walk in the surrounding mountains. Hire a mountain bike if you want to get further from the main roads.
