People are homeless for many reasons, but aside from the ones that city politicians like to use for sensationalism purposes (substance abuse and/or mental difficulties) people are often houseless because of HIGH RENT, LOW SALARY, LOW DISABILITY PAYMENTS, fleeing domestic violence, losing jobs due to transphobia, etc.

The lie is that people who get benefits spend it on substances.

They don't.

They spend it on #food, #housing, seeking work and/or obtaining #medicalcare.
