Great Albums - 1970s: #CaptainBeyond – S/T (1972). Titles like “Myopic Void,” “Mesmerization Eclipse” and “Astral Lady” show you’re in the hands of guys who’ll drag you around a few galaxies after they dazzle your equilibrium with “Dancing Madly Backwards.” A good deal of the 60s survives in Captain’s jamming and digressions, more than the usual metal powerhouse of the 70s. That’s due to ex-Purple Rod Evans and a couple of Iron Butterflies.
