Back at the very beginning of January I mentioned¹ I'd stumbled across Han Hogan, one half of the artist duo "Namaco" behind "Mega Dreoilín"², considered by one critic as:
...one of the best Irish artworks of 2024 so far... incredibly engaging, brilliantly designed, sophisticated in its form and execution, and unexpectedly moving.
"Mega Dreoilín" is still on display at the Museum of Literature Ireland³.
Han is a dynamo! She's been working with Donal on a new artwork/game/commentary:
...a video game about the Irish economy: why we have found ourselves here and where to go next. Specifically it looks at the idea of neocolonialism by multinationals who don’t pay taxes etc - and the wider effects on people’s lived reality in Ireland.
This work will be part of a group exhibition, "Liquid Urbanisms"⁴, at the Lab Gallery in Dublin city centre from Friday 14 March to Thursday 24 April 2025.

Anyway I need these for the ‘set’ that I’m building up for the video game, it’s going to be the bedroom of a 90s hacker, they type of person who would have set up Pirate Bay etc. I can guarantee that I’ll give this to you after. But if you don’t want to go down that route then it’s fair enough if we continue the bidding.
Let’s imagine some feudal serfs.
They’re told by their lord to pay him a share of their crops each year as rents in exchange for permission to live on and farm his estate—his “property.”
The serfs sustain both their lord and themselves by their own labor, living off whatever product is left over after they paid their rents.
Now let’s imagine feudalism is suddenly abolished and the lord’s manor is converted from feudal to private property. The serfs are suddenly free to do as they please!
But the freed serfs find themselves in a pickle: all of the nearby productive land they could farm is owned by the ex-lord and his ex-lord buddies. “Get off my private property,” he tells the ex-serfs. They are, after all, trespassing on his private property.
