Nach gefühlt 47 Tagen „Premium-Graustufen-Abo“ hat sie sich heute tatsächlich wieder blicken lassen – ganz ohne Update, ganz ohne Vorankündigung. Einfach da. Warm. Hell. Fast schon verdächtig freundlich.

Der Frost glitzert, der Nebel zieht sich langsam zurück und plötzlich sieht selbst der altbekannte Hügel wieder aus wie eine Postkarte. Man könnte meinen, sie wollte uns nur kurz testen: „Habt ihr mich vermisst?“

Ja. Haben wir. 😅

Und genau für solche Momente lohnt es sich, früh aufzustehen, die Kamera zu schnappen – und einfach loszugehen. Natur liefert. Immer. Manchmal nur mit etwas Verzögerung.

Moss

On a wet and foggy early afternoon, I came across this lush green and mossy forest scene in the Vosges. The crooked birch tree stood out to me. This was on the first full day of what would be a very wet week in this French range of medium mountains.

Soon, a few photography friends and I will be presenting each other our best shots of the past year. And with selecting your best shots, comes the dismissal of the ones you really like, but ultimately don't make the cut. I will be sharing those shots here, in chronological order. Yours truly pitching the tent, or more accurately shoveling snow around the base to stormproof it. The tent is a Hilleberg Kaitum 3 GT, a proper four season tent, but it does lack extended snow flaps on the fly for anchoring in deep snow. Luckily it has been enough to build a low wall of snow against it and make sure all the pole ends are well buried.
