I got inspired by unibody vehicle design so this kit bolts directly onto the back of an already all-metal PSU frame.I love me some Voronoi patterning with 3D printing. I put some sticky feet underneath to keep it from sliding around. All the holes are M3 screws and should fit snug without any extra supports or hardware needed. I can never get those heated inserts to line-up correctly so I just designed the holes to be 3.1mm. If you over tighten the bolt you will rip through the extra PLA that holds it snug so be careful to stop once the bolts are seated.My PSU has two pins off the back so I have the SK150 going into pin 1 and the two other rails for the 3.3v and 5v off the other pin.The bucklers on those two lines can be independently turned on and off and the 3.3v power switch also turns the USB port on and off.Since the SK150 is cheap, the low-side ground sensing means we get voltage monitoring even when the SK150 isn't part of the load path.

I have a bunch of these generic PSUs hanging around so I turned one of these 24v 1500w into a bench-top PSU with an #SK150 and some smaller bucklers for the other power rails.

I love big chunky switches, because life is short.

Does anyone want the STLs?

SUPER happy with how this weird fish lamp I made for my uncle, who's a big fisherman, lobsterman, etc. came out. I really like those 5mm thin strips but they are a fucking nightmare to solder ends on.

I am currently prototyping an exciting new project with a buddy of mine. I cannot and will not say much but I have the whole code-base done and now I'm just tweaking the color coding, which is SO MUCH FUN!

I am making my own UI from scratch and using nothing but buttons and colors to do it.

Putting the finishing touches on these wedding pieces. The cube is a mold for an epoxy resin which will be filled with mica flakes and the LED panel will sit on the base plate and the white will act as a diffuser and interface between the case and the cube. I have made a single cube before and it looked incredible in the dark.

#FreeCAD (https://www.freecad.org/features.php?lang=en) is good but missing enough features to make me truly miss #SolidWorks

If pirating SolidWorks or using FreeCAD are my two options I'm actually not sure what I'd pick.

Honestly? If there was a #CAD3d option with a reasonable subscription ($50-200/year) that didn't make me relearn my workflow I'd definitely pay for that.

Onshape is online only and makes all your designs public unless you pay them $1500 a year, which.... nah. Hell nah.

Poor Bridget is an eater and cannot be trusted to wonder the house when we're out and about so we have recently got her the absolute largest crate we could for her while we're not home.

I am making her a magnetic water bowl that will mount to the side of the crate.

She loves having the bowl in there already and now we won't have to worry about it spilling all over the place.

So I worked out a modeling technique and with a pattern generating plugin I was able to model and print this structure which printed beautifully and can cover the whole print bed, and is SUBSTANTIALLY stronger than solid PLA would be at the same thickness.
