Good morning from Minneapolis.

Having clawed our way to Friday, we rummage around for our hats-with-flaps. Might be Stormy Kromer; might be Harris Tweed. Chilly outside.

Quite early Friday morning it's 28℉; light winds; fair skies and barometer; visibility 9 miles at the airport.

Sunrise 7:19 CT. We're 325 days in/40 days out as our ignominious 2025 rolls on. I like the sunrise.

AFDMPX: The abundant sunshine will make the high temperatures in the mid 40s feel a bit warmer despite us being only a month away from the winter solstice as our daylight hours continue to decrease. Low temperatures overnight will once again generally reach near or below freezing as the relatively clear skies continue, with this pattern repeating itself through into Saturday and Sunday before we finally see a return to some more active weather on Monday.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

#FloridaFriday: A wide shot of one of the #marble #lion #statues donated by Dr. Andrew #Anderson, who had commissioned #RomanelliStudios of #Florence, #Italy copies of the #MediciLions, statues in the #RoyalPalace in #Madrid.
They were meant to finish decorating a bridge between St. Augustine, #Florida, and #Anastasia Island, which was itself meant to be both #artistic and utilitarian, resulting in the Bridge of Lions, gaining its name from Anderson’s gift.
The bridge needed #restoration work in 2006, so the lions were removed for their protection, and returned in 2011.

#FloridaFriday: The #Florida Keys are a favorite #vacation destination for many, for many reasons. Fishing, historical and ecological tourism, and novelty. Road access to the Keys was not available for many years, though Henry Flagler and Clarence Cloe had build a railroad #bridge.
After extensive damage from a #hurricane, the #railroad sold the bridge to the federal #government, which rebuilt it as a #road bridge.
Then in 1982, the old bridge was made redundant by a new one. Parts of the old bridge are preserved, such as this #pedestrian access to #Pidgeon Key, home of #museums and a location on the #NationalRegisterOfHistoricPlaces.
