And finally a JRPG series that's close to heart but really doesn't need Boost Mode in the first place:

Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero

The game never had any issues utilising the Switch2's full handheld resolution but turning on boost mode does a few interesting tweaks to the UI - namely shrinking elements as it now realises it has 1080p resolution available.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist and the White Guardian - looks great docked on OG Switch but very pixelated and low-quality handheld.

Boost mode for this one doesn't do miracles, it just switches the game to it's full docked graphics and even asks you to confirm you're now using a SwitchPro controller (side effect of boost mode). Over-all I'm very happy with the upgrade.

CrysisCore - looks good docked on OG Switch and gets blurry and ugly in handheld.

Can't argue with this one become crisp and less aliased with a noticeable improvement to resolution and brightness compared to playing without boost mode.

Harvestella - arguably I didn't expect too much as the game already uses upscaling to work in docked mode on the OG Switch and gets blurry and unplayable Handheld.

There's minor improvements in detail and sharpness but overall not too much of an improvement.

After spending a couple hours playing it’s kinda crazy to me how much better Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looks in handheld with Boost Mode enabled. Screenshots don’t really do it justice but the difference is significant.

I’ve seen a couple people say that it’s almost like getting a remaster of the game and honestly I don’t think they’re all that far off. It looks *much* better.

Even Rex was a little surprised.
