The right door switch was okay but when I saw its construction (micro switches soldered on a "PCB" that then was pressed on pins that were part of the socket) I was prepared to find a defective left door switch. And I found it. There's no way to access the brocken solder join (moving the switch lightly brought its function back) in this cheap mess of a construction, so I had to open the switch in situ and use a bodge wire to connect it to the right pin.
My son and I repaired a window lifter in a Renault Modus today. The front right window would only come down fine but never up. We measured random voltage values when we tried to close the window. This had us thinking of a loose contact or a broken wire but the wiring was OK, so we moved to the switches.
