The "wol" command in #BlinkShell ist a game changer.

@e38383 @Randyyy I recommend #BlinkShell (https://blink.sh/) as a SSH client for iPad. I find it works well, including with #Tailscale, and I prefer it to other iPad SSH clients I’ve tried. It also supports #Mosh, which can be helpful when roaming, on unstable connections, or just switching between apps. I still use #Tmux, but both help.

Another setting change I’ve made that I’ve found helpful, because #Vim is my preferred text editor, is to remap the modifier key for caps lock on the hardware keyboard to the escape key. The option is buried in Settings.app under General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard > Modifier Keys, but straightforward to change once found.

Blink Shell is a professional, desktop grade terminal for iOS. With Mosh & SSH clients for iOS, local UNIX tools, lightning fast and fully customizable. The best terminal for iOS and iPadOS.

🌐💻 To all my network involved in remote device connection using SSH, I'd like to recommend a game-changer: Mosh (https://mosh.org). Mosh is an efficient and reliable shell that's optimized for intermittent connections and is incredibly mobile-friendly.

Especially for those who often use mobile devices, Mosh's responsive nature makes remote work far less of a hassle. It's built to withstand packet loss, which means you can expect a seamless work experience even when your internet connection isn't perfect.

For those on iOS, there's another excellent tool I'd like to share: Blink Shell (https://blink.sh). It's robust, versatile, and very intuitive to use.

Consider giving these tools a try and upgrade your remote device connection experience. Looking forward to hearing about your experience with them! 💡💻🚀 #TechTips #RemoteWork #Mosh #BlinkShell #SSH

Mosh: the mobile shell

Mobile shell that supports roaming and intelligent local echo. Like SSH secure shell, but allows mobility and more responsive and robust.

Mosh

I really like to use Blink shell on my iPad for ssh and mosh because it works just like a regular terminal. I really prefer using mosh, because it can maintain your session really well while roaming.

If you are a Blink Shell user and are planning to install iOS 16.4... I did find that the courier new font works but bye-bye ligatures until it's fixed. #blinkshell

Boosts welcomed since @blinksh isn't on Mastodon yet.

@szczezuja Cont. #BlinkShell. The speed of operation and ergonomics of work beats previous attempts on the iPad. Local Linux commands on the tablet rules. Only one thing can cause you to think about it - the price.
I’m looking at #BlinkShell https://blink.sh/docs/advanced/unix-roundup for #iOS. As I understand, this could do some sort of iPhone /iPad transition to basic local terminal (subset of Linux commands) with for example: doing scp for some files from iCloud to remote server. Interesting.

@mkb yes it is. I’ve been using my iPad as my full time dev environment and #blinkshell is crucial to that
I also do all my #webdevelopment from an #ipad which is mostly my only computer now. All #ios 99% of the time. I’ll be writing about #mosh #blinkshell and my #ios on #digitalocean with #webtools browser and #vim
Hmmm.... #BlinkShell looks promising. Is it worth the US$20?
