ERGA at the BioHackathon Europe 2023

The first week of November was busy for some members of the ERGA Annotation Committee. They participated in the Elixir BioHackathon Europe 2023. This year, the event took place in Barcelona and brought together 180 scientists from all over the world to work on 35 different bioinformatics projects. The project, led by Annotation committee members Jèssica Gómez-Garrido and Alice Dennis, focused on Genome annotation and other post-assembly workflows for the tree of life. Annotations are an essentia

🎉 #BioHackEU23 has come to an end!
Thank you all for joining us this year. And a special thanks to those who participated online and overseas for staying up late hacking through different projects with us 🙌.
👏 It’s amazing to see over 300 participants hacking their way through 35 projects, creating new #opensource features, code and resources for #lifescience researchers.
It has been a great week with lots of fruitful outcomes and we look forward to seeing you next year for #BioHackEU24!🥳
The #BioHackEU23 has been a pleasure! Personal highlights: Community renamed to *Image* Community, conventions agreed for tools https://github.com/elixir-europe/biohackathon-projects-2023/blob/main/16/conventions.md, >100 tools curated! Special thanks to project lead

today's #BioHackEU23 continues with tweaking and the first bits of report writing. One tweak including adding InChIKey support in the WikIPathways Bioschemas JSON. That means adding @bridgedb into the code base. No problem, but the generation is just a bit slower now.
