Have you already checked out the IWC - the Intergalactic Workflow Commission that provides curated and tested #usegalaxy workflows to you?

https://iwc.galaxyproject.org

119 scientific workflows! And the best is that you can start them from the IWC website at your favourite Galaxy server using free academic resources.

At #Fungal26? Stop by my Friday poster about BRC-Analytics; I'll be giving out free UseGalaxy accounts (always free!) and free demos of BRC-Analytics.org (always free too!). If you can't make it, here it is: https://js2.jetstream-cloud.org:8001/brc-analytics/GSA-fungal-2026-poster.pdf

In case you missed it, I gave a talk titled "Reproducing Aspergillus
fumigatus Analysis in BRC-Analytics" at AsperFest. The slides are here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Wd37Rntkb3ZYf2zYzAyTlj5aspBh8g95/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=101127789718768943280&rtpof=true&sd=true.

Galaxy

Galaxy is a community-driven web-based analysis platform for life science research.

While I know most of the authors, I wasn't involved in writing "Ten common misconceptions about #Galaxy (and why they are wrong!)." They did a really good job on this, and I have to say, I agree with them!

Ten common misconceptions about Galaxy (and why they are wrong!)

Author summary Galaxy is a free, community-built web interface that helps scientists analyse data in a way that’s easy to use, transparent and reproducible. While it is widely used in biology and other fields, many people still do not fully understand its capabilities. Some think it’s only for analysing DNA, or that it’s too slow, too technical, or only useful in classrooms. In this article, we take on 10 common misconceptions about the Galaxy interface and show how it’s a powerful, flexible tool used by researchers, educators and even clinicians worldwide. With real-world examples and current evidence, we explain how Galaxy supports health data analysis, scales to massive datasets and maintains high software quality—all while staying free and open to everyone. We aim to help more people understand Galaxy’s true potential and feel confident using it in their work.

We all have preconceptions - but are all of them true?

My colleagues within @galaxyproject collected several misconceptions on Galaxy and explained why they are wrong!

Thanks for the fascinating read🤓

Of course, if you have organisms/assemblies you'd like to see added, or have suggestions about funtionality, let us know!

I am excited to present @galaxyfreiburg in a panel of #LoveDataweek with my colleagues from the Central Data Facility and the DH Lab next week:

What counts as “research data” in the humanities? How can we get and responsibly manage that data?

Join us for an interactive talk that answers these questions and introduces you to different institutions at the University of Freiburg to help you with your research data analysis.
