#Amstrad #Bildschirmtext

I just released a scan of the SAA5350 User Manual that I scanned a few years ago. https://archive.org/details/user-manual-eurom-saa-5350-issue-1-provisional-february-1988-6-1
Thanks to @Andreas_SuH1912 for lending it to me and getting a copy back in the 80s :P #BTX #Bildschirmtext
Now in #RetroComputing devroom UB4.136:
#Bildschirmtext - Reeenacting an ancient communication system using #Javascript and Common #Lisp
(but the room is full)
I spent a good hour writing some code in Common Lisp - Specifically, I wanted to serve Websocket connections from my Bildschirmtext server.
That reminded me of how powerful CLOS is. As my server works with (binary) streams, I needed to make the Websocket into a stream. All it took was a little multiple inheritance and a handful of methods to make things work.

This is the #MUPID C2A2 computer, made in Graz, Austria. It was released in 1982 but never became super popular. It is not only a standalone computer, but can also function as a terminal for #Bildschirmtext, a teletext-based dialup information system similar to the French #Minitel.
This particular unit came from Austria and was passed on to me via a chain of friends over the last month or two. It certainly appears well-used! It is to be donated to the #HomeComputerMuseum in Helmond.
