When #Napoléon reintroduced #slavery in the Caribbean, many there preferred death. The #BattleOfMatouba on #Guadeloupe ended on #ThisDayInHistory in 1802 with the ignition of distributed barrels of powder, so the 500 remaining Black rebels took 400 French troops down with them.
