Solar panels work!
We installed them in December and today passed the 1 megawatt generation threshold. That's a lot of juice!
And it will only get better as the days lengthen.
Battery backup means we keep the extra power and use it at night, or when the power goes out.

Like with every #PowerOutage we have here, I discover yet another UPS playing possum that I remember putting new batteries in within the last year or two.
My GoldenMate UPS (which uses LiFePo4 batteries instead of regular lead acid ones) seems to be the one holding up OK, but the other ones I have (typically APC or CyberPower) don't seem to.
Sigh. Power is out and all the UPS units are playing us the song of their people.
I really need to investigate a combo of batteries and generator/solar for this house as this keeps happening fairly regularly and it's getting a bit old.
The good news is that it's a pretty warm day so we'll be OK without heat for a while. But as we're on a well, no power also means no running water.

A friend has mentioned having the #Bluetti AC180 power bank, and I was wondering if other folks have/use those?
So much time without power, and the ups/downs we're expecting going forward make this attractive.
