Ieri il centro di Roma è stato teatro di un gesto potente e simbolico: la Barefoot Walk: Mothers’ Call for Peace. Madri palestinesi e israeliane, a piedi nudi e mano nella mano, hanno attraversato la città chiedendo la fine immediata delle guerre e della violenza e il diritto di partecipare ai negoziati per la pace.
L’iniziativa, promossa dall’israeliana Reem Al-Hajajreh di Women of the Sun e dalla palestinese Yael Admi di Women Wage Peace, candidate al Premio Nobel per la Pace, è un appello globale che nasce dal dolore causato da bombe e attacchi spietati, ma che porta con sé la speranza di un cambiamento. Un cammino di coraggio, che ha unito migliaia di partecipanti provenienti da tutta Europa, con un messaggio chiaro: le donne devono essere coinvolte nei processi decisionali per garantire un futuro migliore e più dignitoso.

Anton Nootenboom, a Dutch Army veteran, began his new Guinness World Record attempt in LA, at Santa Monica Beach, on February 17, 2024. His journey spans the entire length of the USA, finishing in NYC. The mission aims to prevent men's suicides by raising awareness and funds for men's mental health, supporting organizations like Movember.

Anton walked after dark until about 9:45pm and then back to camp for the night.
