Walking on the #ballyhoura nature trail yesterday for the first time in about 20 years, there's beauty and moss everywhere.

The toppled tree is a good example of why woodland should be allowed to follow its natural course - the shaded side has completely different habitat for insects and mammals, the torn earth would have provided food source for foxes (earthworms).

#today I am tired. I slept in a forest last night for a mountain biking event my husband was doing this morning & while he was up the #Ballyhoura Mountains, I walked the dogs & then sat on my ass crocheting a baby blanket for a friend's baby. Now I'm heating up stew for the man who rode the mountain & making fresh mashed potatoes to go with it, with lots of Kerrygold butter (Β½ a block) & white dusty pepper  Then I shall have a nap πŸ’€
