Been thinking all day about how my #greasySpoon diner #breakfast was particularly good today.
Eggs were eggy, bacon both salty & smokey (rare lately) and potatoes tasty, firm and non-greasy. The coffee was fine for a change. The toast was inoffensive at best.
The little diner (Mello's Cafe) is not predictably open lately, as the proprietor has eldercare challenges with his dad, but Saturday breakfast still seems to happen.
Basic eggy breakfast is easy, but not often more than alright.
First meal from the new kitchen: My absolute favorite breakfast sandwich which I haven’t had in a year, probs longer.
I missed this so much. Happy happy happy.

Sitting outside Der Weserbäcker, waiting for my breakfast. There is a seagull eying me, and it is big. I may well have to surrender some of my food and pay the toll.
I don’t measure anything, so probably not that helpful a recipe, but frozen berries in a pan over low heat with maybe a tsp of water, but no sugar.
Beat an egg with a fork, mix in plain flour (~1tbsp) until a gooey consistency, then sprinkle of cinnamon and ginger, tiny pinch of salt, mix well and slowly add milk until runny, about 200ml in the jug total, makes 2 decent sized crêpes. Fry in butter, lather with stewed berries and syrup, scoff along with a mug of coffee. 😍
