I'm pleased to be offering a new course at #BCIT on Developing Sustainable Funding Pathways for Creative Entrepreneurs this Fall: https://www.bcit.ca/courses/developing-sustainable-funding-pathways-for-creative-entrepreneurs-bcst-1393/
We explore the changing shape of media & #entrepreneurship, including traditional & emerging solutions to building #SustainableFunding pathways around your endeavours. The approach is project based with the goal of helping participants design a sustainable funding pathway & timeline to work towards on a project that they are passionate about.
Reading through my #BCIT #SocialMedia Storytelling students' reflections on their #LifesSimpleJoys campaign, and getting teary eyed at this reflection on finding a community of shared understanding.
This is when the magic with social media happens, when you find your #community.
Seeing heartwarming and funny stories like Nikaela Adrias' get crafted and shared in this world are why I love to teach at places like #BCIT.
It made me smile to read the #LandAcknowledgement on #ZeroTheCat's Website.
I've been so impressed by some of the websites that my British Columbia Institute of Technology students built this past Term, a wonderful mix of creative, funny, thought provoking, and forward thinking.

#ThroughMyLenses I am thrilled to see #hashtags mature on Bluesky Social and newsmast, following Mastodon’s model.
Means I can remove X (Twitter) from the hashtag activity in my next #SocialMedia Storytelling Course at #BCIT and replace with a hashtag chat activity suited to #Mastodon, #Bluesky and #newsmast.
Still giving students options, but without having to include a platform that in my opinion has become problematic on a number of levels.
