Highly recommend checking out Hey.Cafe. It is run by Creator Anthony Lee, an awesome Canadian & tech nerd, focused on doing good & who is super responsive.

Why continue supporting tech giants, only to complain about algorithms, have your data mined, & no access to those managing the platform. Here's a novel idea: stop that cycle by supporting smaller platforms that demonstrate an interest in social good & help build the culture on that platform.

Congratulations to Liz Campbell for her #NATJA Bronze Award in Historical Travel for her #Roamancing article, 'Lycia, Türkiye – Where the Dead are Always with Us'! Well done, and well deserved! https://roamancing.com/2025/03/lycia-turkiye/

A nod of congratulation to the other NATJA winners too!

Lycia, Türkiye – Where the Dead are Always with Us

With Lycia, Türkiye's rich cultural history that has visitors exploring the ancient tombs of the Lycian people (an indigenous group from southwestern Anatolia) overtop of Greco-Roman ruins, and paying homage to Saint Nicholas, it perfectly normal for our Islamic guide to call upon Archangel Michael for assistance with the weather, as in Islam, Michael has dominion over natural phenomena. The dead here in Lycia, Türkiye are after all always with us.

Impressed with how @tod articulated our Canadian values in response to an incredibly sad Canadian tragedy.

As a #Brightdrop owner and enthusiast, this bit of news from Ingersoll's CAMI plant seems hopeful.

I was encouraged to reflect on #ConsciousTravel today. For me, part of slowing my travels down and being conscious in my travels is in taking the time to really learn about the places I visit. As such, I really enjoyed this article by Liz Campbell, as it does that - helps us to learn about the culture, in this case Japan's culture, and teaches us how to demonstrate our respect for that culture.

What’s the difference between shrines and temples in Japan?

Marvelling at Japan's tradition of courtesy and respect, Liz explores the sacred believes that shape this country through the shrines and temples in Japan.

Connecting with the Heart of South Africa with Uthando

Africa sings to my heart & soul, but never have I seen so much love than that spread by the Philanthropic Educational Excursions of Uthando South Africa. Responsible Tourism & Fair Trade at the heart of all they do.

On my adventures with Uthando South Africa in 2024, I was invited to tag along for a day as a French Canadian crew filmed an episode of Partir Autrement entre Amis. I was rather in love with the stories they were exploring on #EcoFriendly & #ResponsibleTourism initiatives. The episode just dropped this week, and shows off the work that Uthando, Ulwazi Educare & SEED are doing beautifully, sharing the love that is #Uthando.

This is what #generalstrike and people power look like in #minneapolis. #news #Politics

Utterly sickening. ICE under the US regime kidnapped a 5-year-old on their way home from preschool. I giant masked man accosting a small child. Think of the trauma of that.

Let's be clear, if you are supporting this regime in any way, you are evil & despicable. Many of you claim to be doing this for Christianity (or that its just business), so let's be clear that if that is what you believe in, then you will be burning in HELL.

As I am teaching a course at present on #storytelling, I decided to use Prime Minister Mark Carney's World Economic Forum speech as an example to my students on how a simple story, told cleverly with heart, can change the world.
